Build coverage before the light runs out. Play gear, crew and style cards, handle on-set complications, and keep the stress meter below ten.
A freelance survival card game
A phone, a name and no plan. Build a career one shoot at a time — then discover what the tax office thinks of your bookkeeping.
The shape of a career
Filmmaker Survivor is a turn-based card game wrapped around a freelance career sim. The shoot is the spectacle; the paperwork is the boss fight.
Build coverage before the light runs out. Play gear, crew and style cards, handle on-set complications, and keep the stress meter below ten.
Research bookkeeping, read the tax code, claim deductions and file before the government letter arrives. The tax model is hidden until you learn it.
Hire friends for free, paid freelancers for reliability, and send a second unit into the arcade run for bonus coverage. People remember bad sets.
Coffee buys hours. Powder buys worse. Overwork makes you sick, lowers your ceiling and follows you into the next shoot. The career is a person.
The hidden tax code
Every run starts with a random tax model: flat or progressive, with its own rates, deduction rate and late-filing fine. You don't know it at the start. You can learn it through business research or an old economy magazine.
At the end of the year the bill arrives. If you never learned the code, the letter arrives four months later with one week to file. Ignore enough notices and the career ends in a cell.
Progressive 5% / 9% / 14%
A demo of the model the game rolls behind the curtain. The real one stays hidden until you research it.

Faces with a pulse
Every freelancer has a face built from hand-made pixel layers. Mood follows the career: happy after a clean delivery, tired after a zero-hour day, desperate when the rent and the tax bill arrive together.
Faces blink, smile, frown and sweat. The person behind the camera is not a stat sheet.
